Ariadna Fatjo-Vilas has worked as a film editor for 20 years. Her work includes the Oscar nominated and Bafta winning feature film The Act of Killing. She has worked on nearly 20 documentary and drama features, as well as animated films and TV series.

Her films have won over 100 international awards and accolades worldwide, including three prizes at Tribeca Film Festival (Una Noche), a Best British Animation Award (Yours Truly) and Best Documentary Series at the Asian Academy Awards (Behind Closed Doors).

Ariadna’s work has been screened at festivals worldwide, including Berlin, Toronto, Sundance, Tribeca, Annecy and SXSW and her broadcast credits include Netflix, HBO, BBC, Sky Atlantic, PBS, Al Jazeera English, Canal + and ARTE.

Ariadna is also committed to education, having been course leader of MA Editing at Goldsmiths, editing tutor at UCL and visiting tutor at various other institutions and delivered masterclasses at several film festivals and programs. She is currently an associate lecturer at Central Saint Martins (UAL) and a visiting tutor at the National Film and Television School (NFTS).

Her most recent films Fadia’s Tree and Finite: The Climate of Change had cinematic releases across the UK in 2022 and 2023. The Guardian described Finite: The Climate of Change as ‘a persuasive and powerful case against climate crisis fatigue’ whilst the Financial Times celebrated that ‘what elevates Fadia’s Tree isn’t just the connections it makes. It is how gracefully it makes them’.
Graduated from the National Film and Television School (NFTS), UK, in 2006.
